Have you heard the new swear word???

Do you know what it is? It is causing such offence at the moment and I find myself being scowled at every time I mention it.

It is of course GDPR !!!!!

Not that word again ...

Over the last couple of days I have found myself apologising for this part of my business. I have even resorted to saying I help people with Data Protection not "G#%R".

However today I have thought, What would we do without these regulations?

Are the people that think it is "red tape" or a "waste of time" the same ones that would be happy when their hairdresser, golf club, bank, builder etc lost their details, shared their information or were hacked?

Is it right that we expect the people that supply our services to protect our data yet we don't protect others?

I have spent the last 9 months helping a large national company become compliant in GDPR. It has shown me how Data Protection can help a business in their day to day processes and gives you the opportunity to re-analyse how you run your business.

The business dealt with all Major insurance companies, who as you can imagine, are extremely vigilant on Data Protection. Once complete, my package was certified by the Insurance Companies' GDPR Certification program.

I really enjoyed the whole process of developing the package, training the Managers and staff on GDPR and felt it was something I would enjoy doing for small businesses that needed help. I feel many small business owners however are unaware of what GDPR means for them and are frightened of what it will take to comply.

Remeber GDPR is not scary it is good business practice

Remember there is lots of free advice around and some very friendly, helpful businesses around to guide you too. So get in touch and I'll show you how easy it is.
